This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think the strongest and most thought out stories are the ones where everything has been outlined and planned. The author knows the direction they want to take the story and can really see it come to life as they write it bit by bit. I think just coming up with things on the spot creates writers block and can cause errors and difficulty when it comes to editing.
Thanks for your comment, Josh. I appreciate it! The outlining/planning vs not outlining/planning is always an interesting discussion; there are best sellers on both sides of the argument. I’m in the middle; I like to have an outline but I allow myself to get inspired and stray from it.
